THE CHANCE OF A LIFETIME TO SAIL AS CREW ON BOARD PEGASUS FOR A ONE WEEK ADVENTURE JOINING THE CLASSIC CHANNEL REGATTA

JULY 9-18 2022

AND YOU DON’T EVEN NEED ANY SAILING EXPERIENCE!

Pegasus is a traditional Pilot Cutter built in 2008 for The Island Trust – a Plymouth based sail training charity providing life-enhancing sailing activities to young people of all backgrounds to enjoy the freedom, excitement, and challenge of living and working as part of a team at sea, learning new skills and discovering new places.

The nine night voyage will start and finish in Plymouth and will first sail to Dartmouth where Pegasus will join a fleet of up to 100 other traditional and classic boats racing in the Classic Channel Regatta. The regatta starts with two days of racing at Dartmouth before racing across the English Channel to Paimpol in Brittany, arriving in time for their ‘Fête Nationale’ celebrations. There will then be a final race around the Île de Bréhat before sailing back to Plymouth.

There will be 12 on board including – 9 trainee crew, 2 professional sea staff and a volunteer ‘3rd hand’. All the crew will live on board for the week with meals, safety equipment and waterproofs provided.

Funding for the voyage will be through the generosity of the Classic Young Sailors Foundation and The Island Trust. Thanks to the support of these two charities, we can offer this incredible experience for just £200 per person. If you are interested but cannot afford the fee, then do get in touch as a further bursary may be available.
